Spalted Maple Bowl

Nature did most of the designing on this one.

Turned from a unique piece of spalted maple, this 8" bowl features a striking mix of warm honey and golden tones contrasted by the dark, organic lines of natural spalting. The figuring moves across the bowl from the rim through the interior, creating something different to discover from every angle.

The spalting isn't a pattern added afterward—it's part of the tree's story, preserved in the wood and revealed through the turning process.

Hand-turned in my shop from a single piece of locally sourced wood, this bowl is completely one of a kind. Its shape, grain, spalting, knots, and natural variations are unique to this particular piece.

Use it as a catch-all, fruit bowl, centerpiece, or simply as a piece of functional art.

Made from one tree. Made by hand. Made to be the only one like it.
